Apartment reviews

I spent three months at Peter’s apartment in the winter and early spring of 2017, and could not have been more comfortable or happier there. With incredible natural light and a great kitchen, it was the perfect place to be creative. It’s also incredibly central and convenient to the Old and Angel street tube stations and a short walk from the nightlife at Shoreditch, but is on a quiet, safe street abutting the canals just across from a lovely family-oriented park. Easy walks to groceries, coffee shops, and yoga studios too and an adorable restaurant two blocks away called Sardine for dinners out. Especially as a woman new to the city and living alone, this apartment and Peter’s friendliness and accessibility made it an easy transition to London life. I’d stay here again anytime. 14/04/2017

I had an excellent stay at Peter’s apartment! The apartment is spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. I worked close to the British museum and could walk there within 30 minutes. The area is perfect. Even thought it is central, it is in a nice and quiet neighborhood. The canals are perfect for running or simply going for a walk. There are plenty of good coffee shops and restaurants close by. I was sad to leave when my three months in London came to an end. I highly recommend the apartment to anyone who needs a place to say in London. 18/04/2017

My partner and I had a wonderful time staying in this flat. It is compact, but light and open in its layout (the photographs give a very faithful impression). The bed is very comfortable and there is plenty of storage space. The location is superb- we loved walking to Angel tube every day along the canal, and trying out restaurants in the Hoxton area (Sardine, which has opened just around the corner, is wonderful, and the cafe Towpath, about twenty minutes walk east along the canal, is a great brunch spot.) We’d be delighted to stay in here again if the opportunity arises, and couldn’t recommend it more highly. 14/09/2016

We have just returned from a very enjoyable 12 week stay in the Royle Building, Islington, thanks to the apartment of Peter. On day 1, we were met at the unit and given a very friendly ‘induction’ which included a walking orientation of the local area. A ‘starter pack’ of basic foods was provided as were all necessary cleaning products, some toiletries etc. A couple of small problems (noise from maintenance works and a fuse for hot water service) were attended to immediately, with a couple of emails across the stay asking how we were going. The whole experience felt very supportive. The apartment is small but works well because it is thoughtfully appointed and the kitchen is fantastic. The building is in a wonderful location regards public transport (bus and underground), has a pretty park opposite and backs onto the delightful Union canal making walks a most attractive past-time. The area around the Angel tube is loaded with all the shops and services one needs for a short stay in London. We would definitely rent this apartment in the future. 29/05/2016

I had a wonderful experience in renting this apartment. It’s stylish and interesting, and located in a beautiful converted print factory. I loved being able to walk along the nearby Regent’s Canal either to Angel or towards London Fields, or just a couple of minutes to City Road’s shops, transport and the excellent Ironmonger Row swimming pool. The owner was exceptionally helpful in introducing me to the flat when I first arrived, and answering any queries very promptly. I would be delighted to stay here again.  01/02/2016

I stayed in the flat for 5 months and had a wonderful time. It is clean, comfortable, safe and well equipped and Peter was very responsive and helpful. It is close to the lovely Regents Canal as well as to public transport. Couldn’t have been better! I would definitely try and stay there if I came to London again. I recommend it most highly.  16/03/2015

I was quite pleased with the apartment–spent 3 months there (late summer/early autumn 2014). Peter was incredibly quick to respond to any questions I had, which is always wonderful when settling in, and was all-around a great person to sublet from. The apartment is exactly as it appears in the photos–an excellent home-away-from-home. 13/11/2014

I had a wonderful summer term stay at Peter’s place. The place was convenient for the British Library, and many other locations. Peter was an excellent communicator and made sure our stay went smoothly at every stage. Highly recommended without reservations. 27/08/2013

My girlfriend and I stayed at Peter’s wonderful apartment from April until June 2017. The apartment is very beautiful; just take a look at the pictures of the apartment Peter posted on sabbaticalhomes.com. We spent some months at UCL and the Open University in Milton Keynes. However, we worked a lot “at home” in the Wenlock Road. So, the apartment has space enough for two persons working at home all day long.

The surrounding is safe, quiet and beautiful. There is the Wenlock Basin and The Regent’s Canal network right behind the building, so you can sit at the bank and take a sunbath. At the ground floor is a reception with a friendly and helpful guy. You get to the city-center in about 25 min per walk. 10 min to the supermarket and  5 min to the Pub etc. Public transport (bus, metro) is close. Peter and Mehmet have been very friendly and helpful. Communication was great. All in all everything was fine. Very strong recommendation. Try and get it.  26/06/2017

This apartment was fantastic. My husband and I stayed from the beginning of July to the end of August 2017 and had a great experience. The apartment is clean, it has all the amenities we required, it’s in a safe and quiet neighborhood, and contact with Peter, the owner, was easy–he was always prompt and very easy to rent from. Highly, highly recommended place! 07/09/2017

This is a lovely, comfortable and well appointed flat located in a trendy part of the city. Very quiet for London as it is situated on a dead-end street just off the Canal. Very prompt and courteous exchanges with both Mehmet and Peter. Would gladly stay again. Highly recommend. 17/01/2018

I lived in this building for years, and was great to come back and rent Peter’s beautiful flat for some time. Everything in the flat was working properly, it had all the appliance I needed, and the whole experience was super smooth. Despite being in the most trendy area of all of London, the street and the apartment is very quiet and peaceful. Wish I could have stayed there longer.  16/04/2018

I stayed at the apartment for 4 months and I strongly recommend it. It is very well connected to public transport to all different universities and libraries and in a walking distance of Regent’s canal, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Angel and other nice areas full of cafes. I felt at home with all necessary appliances. Very quiet area with a park in the same street. The office space makes it really cosy to work at home. The hosts made everything very easy for me. They are always really accessible, nice and quick responding to any doubt or necessity that arises.    08/07/2018

I stayed here for three months in the autumn of 2018, and it was a great experience. Located just a couple minutes’ walk north of a bus stop on the City Road, this flat is almost equidistant from Angel and Old Street Tube stations, and within convenient walking distance to all the amenities of both neighborhoods (including a Sainsbury’s superstore at the Angel). The flat is comfortable and well appointed (the in-house office is especially useful), the building is quiet, and Peter and Mehmet were very considerate and responsive hosts. Be sure to visit the Wenlock Arms down the street! 05/08/2018

My husband and I spent a month in Nov/Dec 2018, in Peter’s place while working in London. The flat is exactly as pictured and in a secure building. The flat was well equipped and very clean. A short walk to Islington High street, restaurants and Angel tube. The Barbican is easily accessible and we enyoyed the exhibits and cinema. I highly recommend the flat for two people. Communication with Peter was excellent and very helpful. 27/01/2018

I spent 3 months in this quiet, secure, lovely furnished flat. Everything I needed was provided by the owners. The flat is located in an excellent area, a short bus ride to the British Library and Bloomsbury. Excellent restaurants and pubs close by. Highly recommended for a sabbatical stay!!   17/07/2019

A wonderful place

We stayed in this flat for 3 months this winter and had an amazing time there. The location along the Regent’s canal is lovely — great for walking and exploring. The flat was comfortable, pleasant, and had incredible light due to the huge windows. Peter and Mehmet were responsive. easy to reach, and friendly hosts. Would recommend it very highly.

The flat was super clean and very well-stocked, with great natural light and a comfortable bed and sofa. The bright workspace, which can be separated off with a retractable blind, was perfect for zoom meetings! Peter and Mehmet were very responsive and helpful. Super easy access to Regent’s Canal for pleasant walks to Angel and beyond. Great transport links to central London but many sights are only 30 minutes away by foot. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful, full of families and professionals, and right down the street is The Depot, a co-working space with a nice cafe. and the local Wenlock Arms pub, great for a quick pint and tasty toasties! Really recommend the flat and only wish we could have stayed longer.

The flat was spotless and very well equipped with kitchen and cleaning supplies, and helpful information on the area. Comfortable bed and sofa; I also appreciated that the workspace in the bedroom could be separated by a curtain. The shared terrace along the canal was a nice perk on sunny days, and the canal pathway offered pleasant walks to Angel and Hackney’s Broadway Market. The host was very friendly and the communication was quite smooth. I would happily stay here again!
